Updates
Nehemiah changes often during the beta. The browser version always runs the latest build, so there is nothing to download. Play it now.
Bots, a practice run, and helping each other up
- New to the game? Learn the Basics on the title screen walks you through walking, carrying, building, the sling and helping a crewmate up, one step at a time.
- Short of hands? The host can add bots to fill empty places in the crew and pick how skilled they are. A friend who joins later takes a bot's place.
- When no one else is playing, the menu really pauses the game. The host can change difficulty and bots from the pause menu.
- A builder who goes down can't get up alone while anyone is still standing. Walk over and press E to help them up, back to full health.
- Press E against a finished wall or sealed gap to climb over it. Hung gate doors now stop only enemies.
- At dusk and during the story, everyone gets a ready tick, and the day goes on when the whole crew is ready. Names show on the player cards, with a note while someone is still joining.
- When a run ends, the end screen plays back its highlights, and the crew votes to try the stretch again, play again or go on to the next.
- The crew dances at dusk and after the win (Nehemiah 12:27).
- The status line counts the pieces still to build, and the day plaque flashes when a finished piece is knocked back down.
- After day 52: a closing story, then the credits. A Friends and Foes page introduces the people of the account, and the game has a new icon.
Waves, nightfall and watch posts
- Enemies now come in waves. A bell rings a few seconds before each one, and a pointer shows where it will hit.
- Every day ends at nightfall. The whole section is the goal, and it must stand before the stars come out on its last day. Finish early and you move on with days to spare.
- Raise watch posts behind the wall with timber and keep them stocked with stone: a slinger on top chips at the enemy.
- Rubble heaps at the Old Gate are dug out again during the day, so you can't run out of stone.
- Computer players now build and stock watch posts, and work the mortar trough better.
- A new title screen with the wall going up behind the menu.
Better previews when you share
- Invite links to the game now show a picture and description when pasted into a chat.
- New guide: how to play, with controls, enemies and all 12 sections.
Open beta, now in five languages
- The game is free to play in your browser at play.nehemiahgame.com.
- Play in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German or Korean (Settings › Language).
- Verses in the game now come from the World English Bible.

- Smoother frame rate in the browser, especially on laptops.
All 12 sections, each with its own twist
- Every section of the wall now has its own ground and landmarks, from the sheepfold to the Kidron valley.
- New twists: the double-thick Broad Wall, the horn at the Valley Gate, night at the Water Gate, messengers calling you to Ono at the East Gate, and more.
- A new look: chunky stone blocks, a rebuilt crew and warmer light.
- Menus, the day plaque and the controls panel were redesigned.
Hands-on building
- Delivering materials is no longer enough: stand at the wall and work it up. More hands build faster.
- Full gamepad support, with button hints that follow the device you are using.
- Join a friend's game in one click.
- Clearer player rings, bigger loads and a cleaner screen.
